The Fuller Center helps to build houses for those in need in El Alto, helping people improve their health and safety. The organization promotes collaborative and innovative partnerships with individuals and organizations in an unrelenting quest to provide adequate shelter for all people in need worldwide.
A Snapshot of La Paz La Paz is one of the largest and most prominent cities in Bolivia. Many indigenous people live in the adjacent city El Alto and commute into La Paz for work. Some residents of El Alto live in impoverished areas with houses made of mud and straw that are unsafe and increase the risk of health problems for residents.
What Volunteers Can Do The Fuller Center often welcomes volunteers to help homeowners and other volunteers build a house. Depending on the project tasks may include: clearing the land, digging foundations, laying bricks, mixing mortar, installing doors and windows, painting the house, and other physical activities.
