IkamvaYouth works with students from township-based secondary schools to put them in an academic position to pursue higher education or become gainfully employed following their studies. IkamvaYouth accepts learners from Grade 8 (13 years old) upwards.
A Snapshot of Nyanga township, 25 min from Cape Town IkamvaYouth’s after school programs in Nyanga take place at Zolani recreational centre. With the help of regular volunteers, the branch provides after-school tutoring every day. Nyanga is one of the oldest black townships in Cape Town.
Volunteering at Ikamva Youth Volunteers can help out in the after-school program with students on homework and assist with key subjects including math, science, English, biology, and career planning.
